WinBook XLi Home
The WinBook XLi was the high-end, Pentium II powered version of the WinBook XL, sharing nearly the same external design. The only differences design-wise are the following:
- ALL XLi laptops had 13.3" displays. You'll never see a 12.1" XLi.
- There are some slight styling differences, mainly with the indicator LEDs above the keyboard.
- The RAM door location on the bottom is different.
- Most notably, the rear display housing is modified a bit (you'd be able to tell in photos, if I had them, which I don't). This seems to reduce the housing stress-crack hinge failures the XL has, although I've seen one up for sale that had blown out standoffs on one side so DO NOT think the hinges are drama free on these. ALSO - I have seen at least one XLi that had the same display case plastics as the XL, so NOT ALL of them have the better design.
