The Smart D&M NX1000 is a Pentium-based generic/ODM laptop that was released in October 1996. This is one of those cases where I am not absolutely certain that the laptop pictured here is the NX1000. I had confirmed this model number via FCC records, which were from October 1996. This laptop, the InduSYS GREEN-NOTE, also showed up in print advertising in the same month. If you compare its appearance and features to other Smart D&M laptops, it's pretty evident that this is the NX1000. Both the NX9900 that predated it and the NX2000 that came after it have the same two screws in the upper corners of each hinge cover. The NX1000's speakers above the keyboard look extremely similar to the NX2000. It has the same keyboard latch mechanism as the NX9900. It also has a highly modular design, which was Smart D&M's "thing". All of this, combined with the release dates lining up perfectly, makes me practically 100% certain that this is the NX1000.
