Nature Worldwide Technology Corp (also known as Naturetech) was a small Taiwan-based Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) who manufactured laptops. Although they did make standard x86 laptops, their main focus was on SPARC-based mobile workstations, which is quite unique. Unfortunately, this was not a successful business for them, and by 2000, they had incurred a substantial amount of debt. While they were set to go bankrupt, instead of this, Tatung Co. illegally bailed them out, as Lin Wei-shan, then general manager of Tatung, and the head of Naturetech were friends and/or partners (unclear which). Come 2007, Naturetech was again deep in debt, and Tatung again bailed them out, this time by having a subsidiary acquire them. The company was then dissolved in 2010. This behavior led Lin Wei-shan to be sentenced to 14 years in prison in 2014. Quite the drama for a small but interesting laptop ODM! For more info on the fraud, see this article.
Fraud aside, this page is just meant to document the laptops they made. Right now, I only have documentation up on their x86-based units. I'll add the SPARC systems in the future.
