HP OmniBook 4150

The OmniBook 4150 is a Pentium II/III-based laptop that was released in October 1998. The Pentium III revision, known as the OmniBook 4150B, released in 1999 and swapped out the NeoMagic video for ATI graphics.

You can quickly identify if a laptop is the B variant based on the OmniBook name plate on the lid. If it is gray, it is an OmniBook 4150. If it is silver, than it is an OmniBook 4150B.

Common Faults & Maintenance

Brittle Plastics

The OmniBook 4150's plastics are very brittle due to age. Most units I see on eBay have cracks forming near the display hinges, so it's likely that epoxy will be required to keep one intact.
