Featron was a Taiwan-based Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) that manufactured laptop computers from 1993 until around 2001, when it seems they went out of business. Featron was backed by Philips Taiwan, to the point that they were basically a subsidiary of Philips. My guess would be that Philips made the decision to close Featron when they became uncompetitive in the notebook market.
