Welcome to the Daewoo Homepage on MacDat!

Daewoo Telecom Ltd. was a subsidiary of the larger Daewoo group which manufactured telecom and computer equipment, including laptops. Their laptops were mainly sold in their domestic market of South Korea, but they were sometimes sold in other markets. Certain models were sold with Daewoo branding in Canada via Daytek Electronics Corporation. Some models were also rebadged and sold in the US by different brands, including Leading Edge and Techmedia.

Notably, Daewoo developed the TravelMate 4000M for Texas Instruments The laptop was designed by the Daewoo Communications Research Institute in Santa Clara, California. I believe that it was made exclusively for Texas Instruments, as I haven't been able to find any evidence that it was sold under Daewoo branding in any market. A similar model with a trackball may have been sold by Daewoo, but I cannot yet confirm this.
